February Break!

And just like that...poof...it is February vacation. I hope you all find time to relax and recharge with your family. There were a few things I hoped to highlight this week heading into the break. 

I shared the joy of fielding a boy's basketball team but I failed to mention the TPS girls represented us on the joint Chocksett team. Without enough interest to field a team here, Teegan and Milla traveled to Sterling each day to practice and play with the team. They had a wonderful season that culminated with a district championship win on Wednesday! We are so proud of all the girls on the team but especially of our TPS players! 


The other big news of the week was the huge success of our Book Fair. There was so much joy in watching students leave the library with their brand-new books and sharing what they purchased with their friends. I want to thank the PTA and all the volunteers who made this happen. I also want to thank the families that supported their students in making purchases and everyone who came out for our family nights. Did you know that all the money raised at last year's book fair went right back into updating the library collection? This was the primary way we were able to update some of the collection this year. Thank you for supporting the PTA and our library!

Mid Summer!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! We are excited to have the kids back...just not yet. We still have some work to do. However, I wanted to put several things on your radars.  We have scheduled our annual  Popsicles on the Playground for   August 23rd from 4:00-6:00. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that the weather cooperates and we can actually have the event on the playground. I'm 0 for 2 so far in my tenure here! This event is hosted by the PTA and is an opportunity for all students to get reacclimated to the building and new students to get some nerves out and possibly make some new friends. This is also an opportunity to pick up new t-shirts. Use this link and order by August 14th to get them in time. All the things!

The Middle School started the week off with a special presentation from Mr. John Frost. He travels the world witnessing and documenting eclipses. He shared his passion with the Middle Schoolers and explained the coming eclipse to them. The kids left excited about this upcoming phenomenon! Just a reminder that April 8th is a school day.  The bus company has asked me to remind parents that any balls transported on the bus should be tucked into backpacks before boarding. Apparently, there have been some issues with loose balls rolling around buses and this can be a safety hazard. Thanks for your attention to this matter.  As you may know, our courtyards are maintained by volunteers. They are due up for their spring cleanup . Ms. Santello will be leading a group of volunteers to tackle the Bangrazi courtyard on Saturday, April 6th from 9:00-2:00. Help clean up the raised garden beds, rake leaves, weed, and plant. Fun full steam ahead!

As we wind down the month of October, next week promises to be a ton of fun! The Student Council has planned a Spirit Week for next week culminating with the MS Dance Friday night. The whole school is invited to participate in Spirit Week but the dance is only for Middle Schoolers. Remember that Thursday will feature a short Costume Parade at 9:00. Friday will have the students participating in the PTA Viking Challenge during their specials.  The week's themes:  Monday- Pajama Day Tuesday - Mix and Match Day Wednesday - Sports Jersey Day  Thursday - Costume Day  Friday - Color Wars Day  8th: Red 7th: Green 6th: Black 5th: Blue  4th: Yellow 3rd: Orange 2nd: White 1st: Purple K: Gray Staff: Pink I have had many communications and conversations since my email on Tuesday.
