1/30/26

Well, it was a quick and snowy week here at TPS!  Just a few things for you this week.

📆I have added the February calendar (for specials rotations, etc.) to the Electronic Blue Folder.

🎶Don't forget that the Middle School Winter Concert is Tuesday night (2/3) at 6:30 at Wachusett High School! Mrs. LeMay and Mrs. Brais sent a reminder to families with all of the details!  Our middle schoolers have been working hard - I can't wait to see their performance!

🕣A note from the main office:  Just a reminder that school begins at 8:25AM. If your child is not in the building by 8:25AM (the front door is closed), you will have to walk them into the office to sign them in.  If you don't come in to say hi to Mr. Cormier and sign them in, your Warrior will be marked absent (even if they are here... but late). Thanks for understanding!

🏈I cannot believe the Super Bowl is next weekend! To keep up with sending our good vibes to Drake and the team, we'll have another Patriots Spirit Day on Friday 2/6. Warriors can wear Pats gear, red/white/blue, or fan apparel for their favorite football team!

Have a great weekend and stay warm!

1/23/26

🏈There was a lot of Patriots spirit today!   Good luck to our team!

🛝It occurred to me this morning that some families may not know whether or not we have recess on days with a delay!  The answer is YES!  All students have recess on these days, though the times may shift a bit. Whether or not we go outside is contingent upon if DPW has plowed the blacktop, the conditions of the black top (is it too icy), as well as the temperature outside.  I hope this helps with your morning planning!

😊I always love to see the hands-on learning that is happening in our TPS classrooms.  Ms. Nowd, our STEAM teacher, shared an update from her classroom and I wanted to pass it on to you, too!

After break we are picking up right where we left off in STEAM class! Our kindergarteners designed and built their own paintbrushes that have more than one function. We are testing them out this week!

Second grade pairs designed their own "scorekeeping programs" on Scratch jr. to keep score while they played a math game with each other. They worked so hard to debug their programs and did a wonderful job!

👉Just a heads-up that next week we have a day off on Thursday 1/29 for Professional Development!

🌟ATTENTION Parents of 7th & 8th Graders, please read this letter regarding the SOS program which will be taking place February 2nd and 9th!

Have a great weekend!

1/16/26

𓀘 My goal in this New Year  was to share more about our amazing PTA and what they do for our TPS students.  This week, the middle school had the unique opportunity to have a presentation from an Egyptologist, Paulette Morin.  Paulette was an amazing presenter.  She brought her depth of knowledge about Egypt and her experiences from her 16 trips to Egypt. She also brought along replica artifacts to share with students and to teach them about the ordinary daily life of Ancient Egyptians. Students had the fun experience of wearing replica jewelry and headdresses, while learning about their significance and importance in the Ancient Egyptian culture. It was a fun way to bring this middle school curriculum to life for our our students.  Many thanks to the PTA and Mr. Ruppert for organizing this opportunity!

🏀Check out the latest copy of The Landmark for a story about our Lady Warriors! In case you didn't know, TPS has not had a girls basketball team in over 7 years!  I am so grateful for Melissa DuBois and Erica Martunas who took on the role of coaching our team this year.  I have seen such growth and improvement over the course of the season and I could not be prouder of this team. Our boys team has had a good season under the coaching of Jim Foley.  While it is hard to compete with the larger schools like CTMS and Mt. View, our Warriors give them a run for their money! Our Warriors play hard and improve with every game. I absolutely love watching both teams play. Check out their schedules on the TPS website calendar! There are a few games left!

♬Congratulations to our strings performers!  On Wednesday night, our TPS Warriors performed in a combined concert at Chocksett Middle School.  Joined with Sterling and Rutland, they played three pieces as a combined ensemble.  I am always blown away by what our middle schoolers can do at our music concerts!  They sounded beautiful!  "Impulse" was my favorite! I've been listening to them
practice it for weeks now, but hadn't heard it start to finish!  Bravo to Mr. Sjostedt, our strings teacher!

🕣Just a reminder that school starts at 8:25AM. I feel badly when I have to close the door and I apologize in advance!  We have a lot of Warriors that do parent drop off. I suggest getting here a bit earlier just in case you have to sit in the line.

🌟ATTENTION Parents of 7th & 8th Graders, please read this letter regarding the SOS program which will be taking place February 2nd and 9th!

Have a great long weekend!

1/9/26

Happy New Year!

Welcome Back! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and break!  It was a great week here at TPS!

⭐I wanted to remind students and families about the language in the TPS Handbook about smartwatches and cameras. I know a lot of Warriors received these kinds of items over the holidays and
have been bringing them to school. Unfortunately, the use of these items are prohibited and need to be kept out of sight during the school day (in backpacks or lockers).  Please know if these items are brought into school, they will be left at the office for parents to pick up. I thank you for your understanding and support!

𝅘𝅥𝅯A Note from Mrs. LeMay to Grades 6-8 Parents (regarding Select Chorus):

Hello! Please fill out this form if your child wants to sign up for Select Chorus. Rehearsals will be every Friday until 4:00 p.m. in Mrs. LeMay's room starting January 16th. Please reach out to Mrs. LeMay if you have any questions/concerns at brenda-anne_lemay@wrsd.net. Thank you!!!

👉A Message from the TPS PTA:

Hello from the TPS PTA!

It was busy and exciting fall, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the families and volunteers who helped support our school through:

  • The Viking Challenge

  • Fall Mini Grants

  • The Holiday Shop

All donations go directly back to TPS. Through our Fall Mini Grant program alone, 17 teacher requests were funded and the items requested went directly into the classrooms. Looking ahead, future PTA support will help provide funding for field trips and enrichment opportunities for all students.

We have a great lineup of events planned for the rest of the school year, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Not sure about joining the PTA but want to learn more? Join one of our monthly meetings - either in person or via Zoom. Membership isn’t required to attend.

Upcoming Meetings:

  • January: Thursday, 1/15 at 6:15PM

  • February: Wednesday, 2/11 at 6PM

  • March: Monday, 3/9 at 6PM

Getting involved is flexible - whether you have lots of time or just a little, there’s a place for you. There’s no one-size-fits-all commitment. If you’re interested in joining or would like more information, please fill out this brief form and a PTA member will be in touch.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference for our school community. Thank you for your support!

Check out the flyer in the Electronic Blue Folder!

Have a great weekend!
