Summer: Loading...

🌟Don't forget the last day of school is Monday!  Dismissal begins at 11:55! There is no breakfast or lunch served on Monday and snacks/water will not be for sale!

👏It was a fantastic last full week of school!  On Tuesday we celebrated the graduation of the 8th grade.   We also celebrated with a dance at Harrington Farm last night!  This week's 8th grade events have truly been bittersweet. Today's parade throughout the building was certainly emotional for all, as these Warriors have walked our halls since kindergarten!  We wish them all the best as they move on to high school!

🥰I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the course of the last few months as I transitioned into this interim role.  I have truly appreciated the dialogue, the connections, and the opportunity to work with this great TPS community in a different role! I am hoping you saw the email from central office that I will remain as the TPS Interim Principal for next year.  I am so excited!

💭In education we often find ourselves stepping back and reflecting on our practice. We would really welcome your input and feedback on your child's experience here at TPS.  Please fill out this parent survey by June 20th.  The  link is here!

✐Next year, the schools within the WRSD will not be asking parents to purchase school supplies for their students. This will save you a trip to Walmart, Target or Staples in August!

✅Just a reminder that class placement will be posted to Powerschool in late August.  Around that same time you will receive information about your child's bus stop and pick up/drop off time.  Middle schoolers will find their schedules posted around this same time as well.  While I'm sharing news about summer, your child can access Clever through July 31st!

😀Moving forward, we are excited about the new positions (STEAM teacher and MTSS Interventionist) and staff we will welcome to TPS over the summer.  I will be sure to keep you all updated! Next year our middle school set-up will look a little different. I'm excited to share that the sixth grade team will be joining the seventh and eighth grade teachers to form one middle school team!  This means that students in grades 6-8 will all be on the same schedule, just like in a typical middle school!  Sixth graders will now have the opportunity to have three teachers next year, which will help in the transition the following year to five teachers.  Some seventh and eighth grade students will possibly have the current sixth grade teachers for classes too.  We are very excited about this change and the experiences it will offer for our middle school students and staff!

🖳The Wachusett SEPAC is looking for families of students with IEPs or 504 Plans to help them better understanding family experiences accross the district.  The would appreciate the opportunity for every family to have a voice in shaping how they advocate and collaborate moving forward.  Here is the link to their anonymous survey

🦋Lisa's Pollinator Garden (in the back of TPS) is looking for some students and their families to adopt the garden for a week over the summer and help out with watering! If you are interested, check out the sign up here

A Fun-Filled Week!

➤Today we held an ALICE drill.  The staff and students did an amazing job. A special thanks to the PPD for the support and being here as we ran the drill!

🌞Field Day was amazing on Wednesday!  While it was a hot day, it was still jam-packed with fun.  From the bouncy house, to face painting, to karaoke, to relay races and more, there were smiles abounding. A big shout out to Mrs. McDonald who worked hard to organize it all!  Thank you to the parent volunteers who made the day a success, the PTA for your donations, the Viking Challenge team for the inflatables, the PPD for taking the time out of their schedules to be part of our day, Lisa's Pollinator Garden volunteers, and to Mr. Oles who graciously donated water and ice! It takes a village and for everyone's contribution, I am grateful.  More photos and videos can be see on the TPS Instagram.

👏I'd like to take a moment to say thank you to the amazing STEAM Committee who organized a STEAM-filled year for our TPS Warriors, culminating with an awesome night last night!  It was great to see so many families in the building, checking out STEAM projects, looking at student artwork (thanks Mrs. Finkler), and engaging with members of our Princeton community.  We are so fortunate to live in a town where the community organizations are so excited and willing to be apart of TPS in so many ways!  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

🎓On Monday we welcomed some former TPS Warriors who are graduating from high school! Students from WRHS, St. John's and Monty Tech paraded the halls of TPS celebrated by cheers and applause from current TPS students and staff.  It was surely a special moment for everyone!

👉Message from the School Nurse:

With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, here are some reminders from the Health Office:

  • All medications must be picked up by an adult at the end of the school year. If possible, please let me know if you will be coming prior to picking up the medication(s) so that I can have everything prepared.

  • All medication orders must be renewed each school year. New Medication orders and medication should be brought in the day before or on the first day of school. Students are not allowed to transport medications to school with the exception of EpiPens or rescue inhalers that a student carries in their backpack.  Nurses must be notified of any self-carry medications. Medication order forms can be downloaded off the school website using the Health Services tab.

  • ALL medications administered at school must have a physician's order and parent permission. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medications. Please see the medication policy on the school website.

  • All students must be fully immunized by the first day of school.  The only exceptions are written documentation from a doctor for medical exemptions or a written document stating that due to religious beliefs your child has not been vaccinated. The exemption forms must be renewed at the beginning of each school year.

  • Students entering the 4th grade and 7th grade must have an updated physical and immunization record on file in the health office.  Please send these updated documents in as soon as they become available to you.

Please call or e-mail the school nurse with any questions or concerns at 978-464-5507 or karina_abbascia@wrsd.net
